Ever since the big win at the Golden Globes, Slumdog Millionaire has been one of the most talked about movies this year. And taking home eight Academy Awards including one for best director and of course best picture really helped this film take off. Originally this film was going to be a direct to video movie, but now this film is one of the most watched film in a decade.
This film starts out as Jamel Malik wins an Indian version of "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire". He is accused of cheating, because it is unheard of that a slumdog like Jamel would win this show. Throughout the film it flashes through Jamel's life to show how he knew the answer to each question and also shows his journey through life.
What makes this movie great is that it really brings emotion to you while you are watching it. It makes you clench your teeth, close your eyes, start to cry, and even jump out of your seat cheering. Although some scenes were fairly graphic, the overall film was great. I would love to see this again, and I give Slumdog Millionaire a 9.8 out of 10. An A.
